On se comporte avec le Hamas comme si c’était une entité légitime, respectueuse du droit international qui tiendrait parole. L’histoire ne nous a donc rien appris. L’Allemagne lors du Traité de Versailles n’a pas eu son mot à dire, elle a été contrainte à accepter les conditions de l’accord. C’est ce à quoi nous aurions dû aspirer pour le Hamas. S’ils se sentent encore assez forts pour négocier, c’est que le travail n’est pas encore fini.
Il ne s’agit même pas de négocier, on est tout simplement à leur merci, à leur faire des propositions et à gentiment attendre leur réponse. On ne fait que cela d’ailleurs depuis quelques temps. Attendre. On attend une réaction de l’Iran, on attend la réponse du Hamas, on attend l’accord des US sur une intervention à Rafah. On perd l’initiative.
On ne peut pas revenir sur ce qu’il s’est passé mais on peut apprendre de nos erreurs. En Israël on oublie pas les massacres du 7oct mais on oublie que le pays doit rester uni. Les manifestations contre le gouvernement sont mal venues, ce n’est pas le moment. Les seules manifestations que l’on devrait voir sont des manifestations de soutien aux soldats et de soutien à l’Etat d’Israël en tant qu’entité.
Les critiques doivent être constructives, sans haine gratuite. Les juifs de la diaspora ont sûrement plus conscience que les juifs israéliens eux mêmes de la nécessité de rester uni. Il n’y a qu’un seul foyer national juif au monde. On a besoin d’Israël plus que jamais. Les juifs de diaspora ont besoin de savoir qu’Israël est là fort et prêt à les accueillir si la situation s’aggravait.
La Turquie décide d’un embargo de matière première pour la construction. Je vois cela comme une excellente nouvelle car j’ai toujours été très dérangée par les relations commerciales privilégiées qu’Israël entretenait avec la Turquie Des relations qui empêchaient un soutien franc et direct de l’Arménie. La Turquie mérite d’être sur le ban des nations et c’est Israël qui aurait dû prendre les devants et déclarer ne plus vouloir importer aucun bien venant de chez eux.
Dernière nouvelle mineure mais qui mérite d’être soulignée. MacDonald Israël a distribué des repas gratuits aux soldats depuis le début de la guerre et cela a causé du tort à la chaîne au niveau mondial (qui a été boycottée dans certains pays). Mac Donald maison mère, a donc décidé de racheter la franchise MacDonald Israël, afin de pouvoir contrôler ses opérations commerciales et publicitaires. Afin de n’offenser personne, la chaîne ne distribuera plus de repas gratuits aux soldats. On lâche sur tous les fronts…

We behave with Hamas as if they were a legitimate entity, respectful of international law and which would keep its word. History has therefore taught us nothing. Germany during the Treaty of Versailles did not have a say, it was forced to accept the conditions of the agreement. This is what we should have aspired to for Hamas. If they still feel strong enough to negotiate, it means that the work is not yet finished.
It’s not even a question of negotiating, we are simply at their mercy, making them proposals and kindly waiting for their response. We’ve been doing this for some time now. To wait for.. We are waiting for a reaction from Iran, we are waiting for the response from Hamas, we are waiting for the US approval on an intervention in Rafah. We lose the initiative.
We can’t undo what happened, but we can learn from our mistakes. In Israel we do not forget the massacres of October 7 but we forget that the country must remain united. The demonstrations against the government are disruptive, now is not the time. The only demonstrations that should be seen are demonstrations of support for the soldiers and of support for the State of Israel as an entity.
Criticism must be constructive, without gratuitous hatred. Jews in the diaspora are surely more aware than Israeli Jews themselves of the need to remain united. There is only one Jewish national home in the world. We need Israel more than ever. Diaspora Jews need to know that Israel is there strong and ready to welcome them if the situation worsens for them.
On a commercial front, Turkey decides to embargo materials for construction. I see this as excellent news because I have always been very disturbed by the commercial relations that Israel maintained with Turkey Relations which prevented frank and direct support for Armenia. Turkey deserves to be on the ban of nations and it is Israel which should have taken the lead and declared that it no longer wanted to import any goods from their country.
Last minor news but worth highlighting. MacDonald Israel has been handing out free meals to soldiers since the start of the war and this has damaged the chain globally (which has been boycotted in some countries). Mac Donald US has therefore decided to buy the MacDonald Israel franchise, in order to be able to control its commercial and advertising operations. In order not to offend anyone, the channel will no longer distribute free meals to soldiers. We are giving up on all fronts…
